My Stay in CU: A Mix of Stress and Excitement
My name is Nwokedi Great, and the past three weeks at CU (Covenant University) have been nothing short of a rollercoaster ride, filled with both stress and excitement. As a fresher, the orientation week welcomed me with a whirlwind of activities and emotions.
The orientation for freshers was an intense period where we were bombarded with information about the university, its traditions, and academic expectations. Although it was stressful trying to absorb so much at once, it was also a crucial time for making new connections. The variety night, in particular, was a highlight, showcasing the incredible talents of my fellow students. It was a great icebreaker and set the stage for the friendships that would blossom in the weeks to come.
Attending my first lecture was both nerve-wracking and exhilarating. The unfamiliar faces, the vast lecture hall, and the realization that my academic journey had truly begun made my heart race. However, as the days went by, I started feeling more at home in the academic environment, thanks to the support of both faculty and newfound friends.
One aspect that made my stay more enjoyable was the diverse range of food available in the campus cafe. From local dishes to international cuisines, the variety was both surprising and comforting. Exploring different flavors became a delightful break from the academic hustle.
Speaking of friends, I was fortunate enough to meet wonderful individuals during these three weeks. We shared laughter, navigated the challenges of the orientation week together, and formed a support system that made the transition into university life smoother. Among them, I also found my course mates, creating a sense of camaraderie as we embarked on this academic journey together.
Waking up early to attend chapel services every Tuesday and Sunday quickly became a routine. It provided a spiritual anchor and a moment of reflection amidst the busyness of university life. The chapel sessions not only helped me find solace but also allowed me to connect with the broader university community in a meaningful way.
In retrospect, these three weeks at CU have been a blend of stress and excitement, a mix that has enriched my university experience. As I continue this journey, I look forward to embracing more challenges, building lasting friendships, and making the most of the opportunities that CU has to offer.
